Bowl-A-Rama August 4th 2012
PACC911’s Bowl-A-Rama for AnimalRescue
has proven to be a fantastic and much needed fundraiser for the animal community. This one-of-a-kind event, conceived by board member Eileen Proctor, allows the individual groups with limited resources, a chance to raise “big bucks” at no cost to them! All money collected by each group remains with that group! At the same time, PACC911 solicits for sponsorships for the event, thus supporting our Emergency Medical Fund! Together over the past 9 years, just under $2 million has been raised to help the animals of our community.
The goal of Bowl-A-Rama for Animal Rescue is two-fold. Not only is a much needed fundraiser for the local rescue community, but also an animal issues during the summer heat when it is virtually impossible to conduct outdoor activities. Despite raising just under $2 million in its first 9 years, (over 95% of which went directly to the participating animal welfare organizations, as well as to the EMF Program for emergency veterinary costs for animals in their care) the need for Bowl-A-Rama is greater than ever.
PACC911 is committed to continuing this high-energy event on the first Saturday of August for years to come! In fact, the first Saturday of August is officially Bowl-A-Rama for Animal Rescue Day, as proclaimed by the Governor of Arizona, and the Mayors of Phoenix and Scottsdale.
On behalf of the animals that will benefit from 2012 Bowl-A-Rama, we ask you to make your most generous contribution. Help us achieve our goals! Do it for the animals!

Andy Cignoni, co-owner of The Animal’s Kingdom, is now introducing a way you and your dog can have some fun! If you’re like most people, you probably made a resolution to get more exercise this year, but gyms are expensive, crowded, and not dog-friendly. It’s also very hard to stay motivated if you “go it alone." So don’t!
Each week, I will organize a run for you and your dog to enjoy in a new and exciting location that is safe, provides a platform for you and your dog to meet new friends, and will get your heart rate up. We will start off with an easy 1-mile run/walk and then, for those interested, follow with a 3-mile run. I will provide bottled water and a snack. Although no sign-up is required, if you know you are coming, please contact me online at www.theanimalskingdom.com or at Facebook at The Animal‘s Kingdom. It will help me know how much food to bring!
Our first run will be February 21st at 1:00. We will be meeting at "Grooming at the Ranch" at 8320 N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale, which is just north of Via de Ventura. This is going to be our first run together, so we will have fun making sure we all enjoy ourselves! I plan on running at different locales to keep things fresh and exciting and I will be posting them at www.theanimalskingdom.com and on Facebook at The Animal’s Kingdom.
You need to know that I’m not a personal trainer, I’m not a nutritionist, and I’m not a doctor. I am, however, an animal lover and avid runner who provides a platform to help you bring out your best. I was named to the track and field “All New England” team twice, won the 1992 New Hampshire state decathlon, and have run competitively for the last five years, with a personal best in the half marathon (13.1 miles) of 1:40.
I will bring a positive attitude and a willingness to share my knowledge about what I learned over the years to help you meet your running goals. As interest and fitness increases I’m planning to do more challenging runs and offering two levels of running programs according to ability. Also, I would like to incorporate some hiking to mix things up.
All you will need to bring is an appropriate pair of shoes, your dog (although those without dogs are more than welcome to come too!), and a desire to get in shape. The cost is $12.00 per person for each day of running. Those who would like to paticipate in both runs are invited to do so. If you would like to pay for the month in advance, the cost will only be 40.00 per person.
It‘s time to get going! Let’s have some fun! Everything great you will do starts with the first step!
