Jan is a native Arizonan and although she lived in Southern California for 15 years, Arizona has always been her home. Born in Tucson, Arizona, Jan grew up with a basset hound, cats, gerbils, and had the run of the desert as her playground with her dog. Living at the base of the Catalina Mountains, it had plenty of wildlife and reptiles that she loved to watch while building forts and exploring nature.

When Jan was 10 years old, her father's job for Nabisco transferred her family of seven to Scottsdale. While Jan was always wanting a horse, she saved all her earned allowance to go horseback riding in North Scottsdale whenever she could get a ride. Jan raised and owned dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, bearded dragons, fish, ferrets, and has a special love for Arizona desert tortoises, raising and adopting dozens of baby tortoises over a 25-year span.

Currently, Jan owns four cats; Nova, her elderly domestic blue. Molly, a tuxedo, Pickle Peaches, an orange tabby and Leon, a gray and white tabby.

After high school, Jan worked at Elizabeth Arden's beauty resort on Camelback Mountain for 17 years. She created all the Floral designs, picking flowers from the 110 acres estate and oversaw the dining room for many high society clients.

After Jan became a mother, she decided to go back to school for a business degree to become an accountant for 25 years. With Jan's love for animals, she also did pet sitting for clients and friends for the past 35 years and currently works part-time as a Noon Aid for an elementary school in Scottsdale and Pet sitting services on a part-time basis.

In Jan's spare time she is home with her cats gardening, baking, and enjoying get-togethers with old friends. Her hobbies are cooking, baking, gardening, movies, and taking long walks in the Scottsdale Greenbelt..
